Most notably, Assembly Bill 356 bans water from the Colorado River to be distributed by the Southern Nevada Water Authority or its affiliates to irrigate any non-functional turf on any property not zoned as a single-family residence. Once the bill takes effect, commercial properties and multi-family housing developments, such as duplexes, apartments, and condominiums, will no longer be able to water non-functional turf. The bill then advocates for non-functional natural grass to be identified and removed – since it will die without water.
